assuming your positive identification, then this pic shows probably the attack made on 30 June 1943 by a Sunderland of 10 Sqn RAAF piloted by F/Lt H.W. Skinner. Skinner made one depht-charge attack and strafing attacks but had to withdraw, his plane being hit by U-518's Flak, which also killed his rear gunner. U-518 survived the attack (the second within 3 days...) and managed to reach Bordeaux on 3 July 1943.
