<HTML>Hi Walter
Probably it follows to avoid competition with such outstanding people.
I recalled that approximately one year back on the Russian TV shown the reporting about the man who lives in Siberia. When Johannes Paulus II became Pope Roman one Siberian began to declare friends and familiar, that met with Pope Poman and more, what Johannes Paulus II is his friend. They did not believe to the stories of this person. Man greatly disturbed that they do not want to believe him. Thus continued many years. At last Siberian wrote a letter to the Vatican. He reported that he met with future Pope Roman at the end of the WW2. He was confident, that Pope Roman remembers his name. He requested to send confirmation since no one believe to his stories about Pope Roman. The answer come from the office of the Vatican. There was written, that Johannes Paulus II remembers well Soviet officer who saved his life at the end of the WW2. Furthermore he obtained beautiful envelope with the official invitation to visit the Vatican. Siberian reported to TV correspondent that he is ill now and have not enough money for the trip to the Vatican. However, he is glad to answer from the Vatican since now he has confirmation.
