it is said that U-182 was sunk on May 16, 1943 in DH 1387 ( 33°55\'N, 20°35W ) by the US destroyer Mackenzie.
It seems that there exists a photo taken by a US Liberator coming from Casablanca , dropping bombs on May 15 on a boat of the type IXD2. The photo shows the rear part of the boat which is in crash-diving.
The only IXD2 on being in the vicinity of the route of the Liberator was U-182.
Can anyone help me how to find the photo and the report of the pilot, and where I can find out if perhaps in this period an allied aircraft was lost in this region.</HTML>
