The D.R. is a beautiful place as long as you stay away from Santo Domingo. I\'m not sure about unknown German u-boats in the D.R. area but I do know there\'s a mystery sub in Haiti which is half-beached. See older messages for that thread. What you can also do is use this website to see if anything is close to the D.R. shorelines: Go here for that:

Having just checked out the map from the above URL, it seems nothing is close to shore. The only boats in the area are: U-759 and U-94, but they look like they may also be on the south side of Haiti.
Looks like you maybe out of luck diving wise. Hope that helps.
