Alaskan ww2 Submarine Base

<HTML>I live in Haines Alaska. I have been told that there was an American submarine base in ww2 on Baranof Island (Southeast Alaska). Does anyone have any Knowledge/ information on this? Does anyone have any "leads" that I might follow to find out about this? Thanks</HTML>
