<HTML>Hi, Fellows!
The seas off the Cape of Good Hope are notorious and can be very rough indeed. I can well believe the story of the watchmen being lost, there were occasions wher we had the snorkel up, on the surface, with the boat sealed off as if dived, it was so bad! We also strapped ourselves in, and many is the time I have arrived in the Control Center totally soaked, despite foul weather gear, after a stint on watch on the bridge. By the way, on the Daphne the only instruments are the two compass repeaters on either side of the bridge, a foot-operated intercom and a voice-pipe.
All the best,
Garth</HTML>
