<HTML>Hi.
I'm sory it took so long time for me to answer your mail, but I'll try to do my best.
The snorkel on U-711 is lowered and lays in a slot in the wooden deck. In front of the conning tower, on port side, there is a bracket whish is ment to support the snorkel while erected. There is also some forecastle plates in front of the conning tower, but after all these years on the seabed it is impossible to see how she was painted. There will be some more photos on our web-site www.atd.no within a few days. Maybe some of you can give me some more information about details on the photos.
Btw. Do you have some photos of U-711 on the surface ?
Best regards
