The number of the boat and the description point towards the second Schnellboat flottille. These boats also were named ' E-boats' by the allieds, to avoid confusion when you will see that name being mentioned.

Well, the best book you can read is ' Schnellboote im Einsatz' by Gerard Hümmelchen. It gives an chronologic description of the activities of the S-boote.

I have more info on S-221, but don't have my books at hand right now.
