<HTML>In his book on U-234 (\"Germany\'s Last Mission to Japan\") J.M. Scalia writes on page
175 that an Me-262 was formally presented in late May to US officials at Wright Field in Dayton, Ohio. However, Scalia does not say that this Me-262 was the one from
U-234. Footnote 61 for Ch. 9 (p. 229) Scalia suggests that it could have been the one from U-234.
This ought to be a solvable mystery. Presumably the cargo manifest for U-234 would have listed serial numbers for the Me-262\'s main components. If these numbers match the ones on the Me-262 presented at Wright Field, then we can assume the two planes are one and the same.
