Why all u-boats destroyed after WW2?

Almost every navy in the world after ww2 has sold or re-purposed their obsolete submarines, many still in use today over 50 years old even. Considering there were a fair number captured intact after the war they did they not get saved, repurposed to use again as the tech was pretty good for the times or sold? To my knowledge there are only 3 intact ones worldwide, the one in Chicago I have visited. They wanted to just destroy anything Nazi? or some other agenda? Seems like all the victorious countries were on board with this.
