I have the book and I too wondered who the officers were in the photo. A couple of points that come to mind:

1. Any chance the pictures are taken from the original German version of Fuerbringers\'s book?

2. I would suspect that the easiest way to track down most of the identities is by focusing on the PLM angle for Hundius and Bartenbach. One possible place to start is by inquiring at [www.pourlemerite.org]. Also, there seems to be a civilian order of the PLM, which the German President as master and protector.</HTML>
