<HTML>Hi Yuri

\"Germany invaded neutral Denmark on 9th April 1940.The ships of the Danish Navy
were surprised in port and, after an agreement with the Germans, remained under the Danish flag an control.Officially, Denmark was under German \"protection\" but, by August 1943, relations between the occupiers and the Danes had deteriorated and, on 29th August 1943, the Germans attempted a coup and the Danish Navy scuttled most of its ships in port.Despite German intervention, a few boats tried to get to Sweden, but most were scuttled including all of the operational submarines and several old boats which, by now, had been reduced to the status of battery-charging boats (B Class).
All Danish submarines were of domestic design, and were built at the Royal Dockyard at Copenhagen.Several of the scuttled boats were raised by the Germans, but none of them could be used before the war ended.\"

\"In April 1940, when the Germans invaded, the Norwegian Navy had nine submarines: three old boats of the A Class (A.2, A.3 an A.4) built in Germany between 1911 and 1914, and six of the B Class (B.1, B.2, B.3, B.4, B.5 and B.6)
of the Holland type, built in Norway between 1923 and 1930.
The Norwegian boats attempted, in vain, to oppose the Germans, and were then scuttled in port, where they were captured.Only B.1 managed to reach Britain, but she could not be used because of her advanced state of disrepair.
The Germans salvaged several of the scuttled boats and re-commisioned three:
UC.1 ex B.5, UC.2 ex B.6, and UC.3 ex A.3.These were later lost or discarded before 1945.The first two were used for training, the third was hardly ever used.
During the war, the Royal Navy ceded three boats and these operated with success in the North Sea, under the operational control of the Royal Navy and under the orders of the Norwegian government in exile.Urred was lost in February 1943.\"
