<HTML>U-776 was the only U-Boat to sail up the Thames. She was manned by Royal Navy Personnel. Many of her crew having served on HMS. Graph. The white sweaters in the picture are of the RN Crew.
The caption is indeed wrong.
The River Thames was just a part of U-776's Tour of the UK ports in aid of The King George IV Fund for sailors.
