Attack on italian submarine.

<HTML>I have some notes from 240 sq. R.A.F. operational record book which mentions an Italian sub. claimed by \"Tiny 2 Hunter (who was one of the tallest officers ever to service wit the R.A.F.).
The attack took place in Sept. 1941. as far as I am aware no Italian boat was lost - it may even have been a german boat mis identified.
can anyone give any leads on the incident.The Escort vessels which saaw the attack go in thought it was a \"kill\" but no boat missing or sunk.
Any clues as to the submarine in question?</HTML>
