<HTML>C.J.Christ from Houma,Louisiana has been searching for U166 for 34 years. After U166 was bombed it was never seen or heard from again. The mystery of U166\'s location is unknown to the minerals management service archaelogists who acquire most OCS oil company sonar and magnetic data.Oil companies are required by the MMS to submit an archaeoligical report and conduct surveys,side-scan sonar and magnetic readings before an offshore drilling rig is allowed to start operations. Some of the historic shipwreck locations in the Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic ocean are known to the MMS but are not released for public information.Christ and myself have met with the MMS staff underwater archaelogists and they indicated no data has ever been found concerning U166. If U166 is in the reported area where it was bombed then it may one day be discovered by analyzing offshore sonar and magnetic data.We have been doing this 1 offshore block at a time .Christ has dove on many wrecks and obstructions during his 34 year hunt. Christ has interviewed hundreds of people in reference to U166 and is the only non-German member of the U-boat veterans association. Christ even stayed with Admiral Doenitz in the mid 1970\'s to learn more about German operations in the Gulf of Mexico. As you can see by now, when you talk about U166 your talking about C.J.Christ.
