I sincerely apologize if I caused any unnecessary grief.

I didn’t really think you meant to restrict the use of the information in the members area but I couldn’t be sure without asking. I completely understand and agree with your wanting to protect your heavy investment in gathering, organizing, proofing and publishing this information and the database tools that make it so valuable a research source.

By implementing the members area I think you have made a very significant and valuable contribution to the field of historical research. As the information base grows and contains even more information impossible to get from other sources, it will become invaluable to all serious researchers. Why would any author start his research into U-boat related topics anywhere else?

I applaud your efforts. Your site has already helped a great many people. With the addition of your members area you have broken new ground in this area of research. I don’t think there is anything like it in the world for U-boat research and that is a pretty good position to be in. I have seen your site listed as a source in U-boat books already and I suspect it will be listed as a source in most U-boat books in the future.

I don’t mean to slight the other people who have worked so hard with you to make this happen. I know it must have been a team effort. What you have done is a credit to all of you.
