<HTML>Following is from The German Submarine War 1914-1918
by Gibson & Prendergast (1931) page 164

\"There was no doubt about the next loss; Berlin was even anxious to proclaim it as a U-boat success. At midnight on March 20 the Asturias (12,002 tons) was attacked for the second time, and was not so fortunate as before. Six days out from Malta, she had landed her wounded at Avonmouth, and was then on her way to southampton. She was steaming at 14-1/2 knots, fully lighted, and bore all the distinctive markings required by the Hague Convention. The weather was clear, with a choppy sea. Hit aft by the torpedo, she settled down in shallow water off the Start, after all except 41 of the staff and crew had taken to the boats safely. Later she was refloated and brought into Plymouth.\"
...................

\"It had been assumed that the Asturias attack might have been due to a mistake, but the subsequent outrage left no doubt of a deliberate terroristic policy. In consequence, Allied aeroplanes on April 14 bombed the town of Freiburg, in the Black Forest, as a \'measure of reprisal,\' causing small damage to the aerodrome but several civilian casualties.\"

There is no mention of the U-boat involved - it could, perhaps, be found by a process of elimination of all U-boats at sea in UK waters on the date in question
