<HTML>Have read a note in the losses section dealing with U-489 which was sunk by Al.Bishop og 423 squadron that a catalina was damaged by the U-Boat durring the action.
I have corresponded with four members of this crew including the two Pilots (Al.Bishop and Murray Wettlaufer) both of whom never made mention of a Catalina being in on the attack.
Al.bishop attempted to make more than one approach but on each ocasion was met with intense flak.
Had there been a second aircraft it would have seemed reasonable that they would have split the gunners fire and coordinated their eforts.
Does any one know anthing about this Catalina ? Any information would be well recieved.
