<HTML>Well, I suppose nobody waited for the whales to move away when they had a contact with a Uboot.
Also I could not imagine an uboot waiting for the whales to move to a save distance before firing a torpedo.

So... I suppose quite a lot of whales got killed.

But on the other hand,... perhaps there were less Whalers out to kill whales for oil....so it balances it again.
