Nickname for U-boat recruits?

In my quest to discover every bit of minutia dealing with U-boats, I offer this ponderance. (which I have just discovered, with the help of \"Spell Check\", is not actually a word)
Was there a nickname given to new recruits of the Uboatwaffen? For example, often times in English slang, new people are referred to as \"newbee\'s\", \"greenhorns\", or \"wet behind the ears\". Did the German\'s have a nickname for their new sailors?
