<HTML>Hi Jeff -
Came across the German word `Muschkote` recently in a U-boat context. Had great difficulty finding it anywhere in a German-English dictionary, but found it eventually in one: it does appear to mean `new recruit`. What its origin is, and whether it`s naval slang, or used in the forces in general, or just in U-boats, or indeed whether it`s an official term, I have no idea. Can anyone enlighten me/us ?
Thanks in advance
Frank
