<HTML>Hi Torlef,
No, we are talking about a type of a Matjes Hering. Except, it just tastes soooooo much better - hard to describe. It is a young hering contrary to the Matjes, and has been laying in the saltbrine only a short time - not impairing it\'s delicate flavor. Don\'t make the mistake of washing it down with the poor excuse of the local brews my Dutch friends call beer. Something German, Belgian or Chekoslovak is called for here.
See, William, I have done it. Successfully linked the XIb to herrings and last not least our discontinued beer thread.
Silly season in Washington DC, tax day yesterday, today snow showers expected. Cheers, RB :-))</HTML>
