No I\'m afraid U2540 is no longer operational although she is very well cared for, for the most part. I visited her in 1998 and other than some rust right along her waterline, her exterior was in pretty good shape. She has become a tourist attraction, so it\'s generally pretty spic \'n\' span inside as well. She is docked outside of a shopping mall that is part of the museum.

I might be wrong on this, but if memory serves...her engines have been removed. But i did ask one of the tour guides and he said that, no, the boat was no longer operataional. </HTML>
