How is your type 7 from JB coming along. The 2 reference books about the all steel decks of early sevens can be safely thrown away, since their authors do not know, what they are talking abt.
Also the boats were not decked with teak, as their rich American cousins. German yards used relatively common fir or pine treated with a black wood preservative (probably creosote base).
True enough, over the years the slot pattern changed to a less complicated - more easily manufactured deck with less access hatches than their predecessors.
At any rate yours is a relatively early 7c without Atlantic Bows, I believe. Rgds, RB</HTML>
