The story of the u-boat commander stopping by an Irish pub is told in the book: \"Unexplained Mysteries of World War II\". The story in the book comes from two witnesses, one of them claims he had an actual conversation with the commander. Quite interesting. It could be true, but it could also be an Irish legend :-)
I for one have an open mind to it.
You are the first that I have heard speak of this same story. That is quite amazing to me. It gives the book a little bit more credibility.
