I do think the \"Treaty of Versailles\" had a lot to do with it, as
Germany was very restricted to the size of her U-boats in the 1930\'s.
It was after this Treaty, which Hitler repudiated that the German Navy
started building much bigger U-boats to suit Germany\'s war effort at
sea.
