Actually i\'d believe the Pilot before the U-boat captain as being a bomber it will have observers/rear gunners who can confirm the hit and also as Baumbach was one of the pioneers of the remote controlled guide bomb\'the target had to be visually watched the whole time the bomb flew till it hit\'though many of his sinkings were old fashioned bombs before this.

A U-Boat Captain firing 5 Torpedoes and hearing detonations is\'nt very accurate as per Albrecht Brandi who seemed to overclaim on detonations heard.Of course a single ship being sunk by a U-Boat could be accurately sunk and be seen to sink and therefore an accurate claim unlike in the midst of a Convoy Battle.
