Just back from the U-505

<HTML>Business took me to Chicago this week so I was able to see the 505 again. I love it when the company funds my sightseeing.:-) It had been about 10 years since I was there last, and I was glad to see that there had been some clean-up done on the boat. The tour guide, however, was terrible.
( Tour guide: \"The U-505 was designed to carry 21 torpedoes as it was felt that this was more torpedoes than would ever be needed and there would be no need to reload.\"
Me: \"You mean to say that when they ran out of torpedoes, they scraped the boat and built a new one?\"
Tour guide:\"Auhh, I\'ll have to ask about that.\")
After that he went into an explanation of diving that compared a submarine to the Titanic. Seems the Titanic went down because the iceberg caused its boyancy tanks to fill. Why they didn\'t do an emergency blow and put an up angle on the plains, I don\'t know. At this point I dropped to the back of the group, stuck my fingers in my ears and started humming real loud.</HTML>
