<HTML>Hi Kurt,
What hull insulation?? These coffins were unbearably hot in the tropics and ice cold in the NorthAtlantic winter, enen though the various compartments had electric wall heaters. These ofc were switched off mostly to conserve batt juice, when submerged. In either condition the condensation merrily trickled off the bulkheads into the bilges after wetting everything in between. Not many creature comforts here, the first boats with A/C units were the type XXI.
There was some roach infestation, particularly on the Monsun-Boats. Rgds, RB</HTML>
