Hi Brodolak!

I used to know the II WO, Lt.z.S. Heinz Sonnenrein, from U-1105 which was fitted with the tiles. He told me that sometimes a few tiles had a habit of coming unstuck along their leading edges, creating quite an amount of drag. His opinion was that their deficiencies outweighed any perceived benefits.

I regret that heinz died back in the late 90's so that is all I can tell you.
