Hi there all.
To those who created the U-Boat net site, may I just say that it is a great site and that I have read through - and enjoyed - a lot of the information contained upon it.
I have read several books about U-Boats, the 'Aces' (Prien for instance) and am interested in submarines and submarine warfare across the ages.
I would like, if I may, to ask this question. My late father served in The Royal Navy during the Second World War and told tales of how German U-Boats found sanctuary in Southern Irish ports. Now whether this was true or not I don't know, but he developed a dislike of the Southern Irish people/government because of this. If someone could tell me whether such 'harbouring' did in fact occur, I would be much obliged.
Many thanks
