Hi Joe

I'm aware of three other cases in which U-boats rescued other U-boatmen:

The outbound U-185 picked up the survivors of U-564 after the U-boat was sunk by an air attack in the Biscaya on 14 June 1943, later transferred them to German destroyers and continued its patrol. They then rescued the crew of U-604 after she was disabled by an air attack in the South Atlantic on 11 August 1943. Some men from U-604 were transferred to U-172 before U-185 was herself lost on 24 August.

U-81 took over the crew of U-652 after the U-boat was disabled by an air attack in the Western Mediterranean on 2 June 1942. U-81 then scuttled the other U-boat with a torpedo.
