from KTB Skl for 2.9.1940:
"... Um beim Gegner möglichst eine Unklarheit über Ursachen seiner Verluste hervorzurufen und damit zugleich noch weitere Sperren zum Tragen zu bringen, wird in der deutschen Veröffentlichung der Verluste der englischen Einheiten als Folge von Torpedotreffern unserer U-Boote bekanntgegeben. ..."
