Hi- Re your "strange" binoculars-What you have is a pair of defining binocs that came out of WW2 ! 8x60 T blc DF made by Carl Zeiss(blc) Porro prism II construction with oversize eye lenses(34mm) some came with ventilated rubber eyepieces, yours have the bakelite eyepieces with a bakalite cover(Benutzer) to which is attatched a rubber band-the Benutzer have a roughend surface with the inscription of the "user"his name or initials and focus settings-no one else was allowed to use these glasses only the prescribed user-' T ' marked indicated a special coating applied to the objective/ocular lenses-your glass may have MSS **** on the top right prism housing which indicates to some as meaning Marine Signal Station....could be Marineshlafshiffe ***** in good condition optically these glasses have a amazing picture/resolution that CANNOT be beaten evan by todays standards.....rare and in not messed about condition worth between USD$ 5-10000...Rgds Zman
