The U-170 was attacked by aircraft from Carrier Guadalcanal , although damaged she was not sunk,on October25,Hauber the commander later attacked two destroyers,reported depth charge damage,snort out of order,he finally reached Norway on November 30th, after 119 days.Maybe this will help?
