<HTML>Hi Gavin,
I am not aware of any lyrical waxing about deeds of \\\'Uboat aces\\\' nor about cutting them any undue slack.
Meritorious awards or medals were by their nature apolitical - even in \\\'NAZI-Germany\\\', i.e. a KC is not any more a political statement than a VC or a Silver Star.
The mere fact of a weapon having been produced whole or partially with \\\'slave labor\\\', is absolutely immaterial to the soldier, who has to use it.
In other words, what are you trying to say other than lets not discuss atrocities committed in the Pacific theater? Rgds, RB</HTML>
