U boat clock

Hi all,

My parents-in-law have recently moved house and came across a u boat clock in thier loft that came as part of a deceased relatives belongings. The guy it belonged to was in the navy in the second world war and said it had come from a uboat.

It has the swastika with a letter M under and the number 15523 with an N underneath.

We're curious about the history, but also feel it would be better owned by someone with a passion for such items, I can email a photo.
