I am researching Horst von Schroeter who sank the merchant navy vessel Holmbury which my father was radio officer on, on 5th May 1943. Does anyone know if U-123 was his first submarine, the first mention I have of him on U-123 is in December 1941 as second watch officer, after his time on the Scharnhorst ended in April 1940. many thanks , Mel.
