Actually we do know who Walter Schulz was. You can find an article on him in the German wikipedia: [de.wikipedia.org]). Born on February 14, 1925, he just died on Jun 12, 2009 in Schwerin, Germany. After returning home, he studied Theology and became a Lutheran Pastor and later a senior church official in his native Mecklenburg.
