On the evening of Saturday, 16 May, Naval Historian Paul Lawton, Esq., Jim Fahey, Archivist and Curator of the Watson Museum and Research Center, and I will be hosting an evening with Gerhard Walter Wengefeld in Quincy, MA. Walter is one of the 3 survivors of the U-444 which was engaged in an attack on Allied Convoy HX-228. The battle is well documented here on uboat.net and also on uboatarchive.net. Paul did an extensive interview with Walter 2 yrs. ago that was posted on this site. However, there are still some unresolved questions concerning the actual sequence of events surrounding the ramming and sinking of U-444 which we hope to clear up.

If anyone else has any questions they would like to ask Walter please post them below or private message me and I will try to get them answered.
