The most disappointing "typo" I've seen so far!

Today I received "The survivor" by Hans Herlin, Pen & Sword Books 1994, ISBN 0850524091 about the "Doggerbank" incident.
On the back of the dust jacked there is a picture of a U-boat, and the text below states: "Above: The U43 under the command of Captain Schwantke torpedoed the Doggerbank by mistake in the North Atlantic, 3 March, 1943, with the loss of 343 lives."
When I saw the net cutter, I thought: "picture early in the war", and the number 43 painted on the tower: "before the war". My next thought was type VII. ... But U 43 was supposed to be a type IX, and it was commisioned on August 26th 1939, not exactly well before the war!
Inside the book, in a block of photographs right after page 86 I found the same picture.... well almost..
Instead of 43 one can read 34 on the tower! (Type VIIA commissioned 12 Sep. 1936).
And the text below states: U43, the German submarine that sank the Doggerbank off the Azores in 1943.....
I have to say that this was a great disappointment. It's clearly the same picture, but someone has changed the number on the tower. - At least on the back cover, however, they forgot to change it instide the book, and the text below the picture makes it all even more stupid.
I hope there aren't too many like this around, and that the rest of the book sticks more closely to reality!
