Hi all
A few of us in my dive club have become significantly interested in WWII U-Boats, and are keen to discover more about them. Our interest was sparked by a relatively well known book within the diving community called ‘Shadow Divers’ where a couple of US East Coast wreck divers, John Chatterton and Richie Kohler, discovered an unknown U-Boat and embarked on a quest to discover it’s identity (the book was heavily dramatised in typical American fashion but there was still some very interesting factual information within it!).
I believe that the U-Boat eventually turned out to be a type IXC/40, but knowing that the most common type of U-boat is a VIIC how might such a type be recognised underwater, etc, and was their any sub (pardon the pun...) catogories of the VIIC's.
Thanks in advance
Andy
