I appreciate your suggestions and will get a few of those books on order. I've read a couple dozen u-boot related books, however most make little mention of the midget sub operations, which I have to admit has become intriguing to me since I saw one at a local museum.

At the moment I'm just finishing Doenitz's "Memoirs". It's hard to believe that I haven't read this earlier; it's an extremely engrossing work that is probably best appreciated AFTER developing a general knowledge of the u-boot war.
