Hello
According to [ubootwaffe.net] he did not serve as a medic, but as a Funkobergefrieter on U 462, and after the war eventually became a Prof. Dr. Med and senior specialist at Ulm Hospital.

Neither can he be found in Fernando's list of Medics.
