Hi
Gummi has now updated the page for U 1053, and answered (at least as far as possible at the moment) my question:

"According to a Norwegian source (unconfirmed) the wreck of this boat was located about around 1991. Later news from 2010 seem to contradict that as none of them seems to mention the earlier discovery."
