No records exist as to which chronometer was issued to which German Navy vessel but you are correct in that they were fitted to surface ships as well as u boats.
You will need to disclose some more info - is there a letter under the swastika? Is there a letter under the number? What is the number on the reverse?
Out of interest, I have a chronometer with the number 15061 which I know as fact came from a u boat - my late father, serving in the Royal Navy, was presented with this by the commander of a surrendering type V11C in May 1945.
Can you let me have a photo?
