Soviet Missile sub K-77 (Aka known as "Juliet 484) being scrapped.

Hello all:
An article appeared in the "Providence Journal" (from Rhode Island, USA)
regarding the fate of this "Cold War" boat.
Th is Juliett-class sub was one of the largest non-nuclear missile boats built by the Soviets. The 45 year-old diesel-powered missile sub was decommissioned in 1994 and sold to the food-service industry on the North Sea. It was moved to Key West, Florida and had forward and aft "tourist entrances" installed. It was brought to St. Petersburg, FL and moored alongside a pier and became a museum. I visited it and was amazed at the crude workmanship throughout the sub.
It was sold to Universal Studios and National Geographic Magazine for making a
movie. It was featured in the Hollywood (Harrison Ford) 2002 film "K-19: The Widowmaker"
In 2002 the sub became the "Russian Sub Museum" alongside the Allen Avenue water-front. In 2007, water entered the sub's hatches during a torrential rainstorm and the sub sank.
She spent more than a year at the bottom of the harbor before U.S Navy and Marine
salvage experts helped raise it. The damage, though. was extensive, and the museum foundation determined it was more prudent to cut its losses and sell the
vessel for scrap.
