Hi Al, I think you are referring to 'Enemy Below' 1957, Robert Michum, thats Curd Jurgens (U-boat) is trapped under water, he as lost the faith in the war, and i think he sends fuel and othe rebris to the surface, the part about putting a live man in the torpedo tube, and he survived, is imagined, I would have thought.
