Hello, my father came to Mexico in that ship. He was born in Madrid and left Spain after the civil war and lived in Casablanca for about two years. He had to leave due to the German occupation in France (and Morocco). I have a picture of the ship from a postcard that my father had with him, but practically nothing about that trip. Nevertheless, my father told me that Casablanca was not a scale of the ship and it went there due to a problem that could be fixed in that port. It seems he was lucky to find a place and paid for his trip. I think he mentioned something about a submarine, but nothing special.
What I would like to know is if you have information about the complete trip of the Nyassa from France to Mexico, and if indeed it was not considered to pass by Casablanca or if it was part of the original itinerary.
