U 589 August 1942

According to this website info, U 589 returned Skjomenfjord on 12/8 after a 27-day patrol. This is also borne out by Wynn, vol II, who states the boat sailed from Bergen 17/7 and there are no details of this patrol.

According to the KTB at [uboatarchive.net], on 4/8 the boat was patrolling in MQ DN 80 - off NW Haiti!

I don't believe the time frame allows for this boat to be at that position on the given date, particularly since the departure for patrol was from Bergen.

Can anyone shed light on this apparent incongruence?
